Animal Love...

Today I was able to snap some photos of animals. My two favorite types of photography are flowers/nature, and animals. I'm actually not that excited by taking photos of the food I make..mostly because I need to work on lighting, set up,and everything else that drives me nuts. Everything is already present when taking photos of animals and nature in general.
I sometimes have mixed emotions about petting zoos. I love that I am able to get up close with some of the animals, but at the same time I feel so bad for them. I wonder if they ever get a chance to roam out in a big open space without screaming kids trying to get their attention.
I sometimes feel trapped like they do..always looking on the outside and wondering if I will ever get my chance to break free.
What does your "Today" look like? Link up and let us know.

We have a petting farm very close to our house that is only open a few hours each day and not everyday. There is also a lot of space and little houses the animals can run into to get away from the kids. I like that it educates children that these animals are nothing to be scared of and animals are something they have to be gentle with There are signs saying not to run and be gentle and stuff - I am always telling my kids that all these animals regardless of their age have to be treated like babies.
I have seen a few petting farms, though, that were disgusting - I just wanted to kidnap all the animals and find better homes.

These pictures are beautiful Sonya!

I love animals too much! Your pictures are really good.
But I'm not happy in zoos, there have the same thoughts as you...

Oh the animals are really beautiful. Right or wrong, I love petting zoos. The interaction compensates, I think, but I could easily be very wrong.

I, too, love nature shots. And, I know that feeling of being 'trapped'...sometimes I feel like I've lost myself, and my sole purpose is to live to please others. Beautiful pictures, especially sweet cuddly 'Eeyore' ;D

I just love these shots!

I like to tell myself that they love all of the love and attention they get from their adoring visitors.

'm probably full of it though ;)

Hallo my name is Jennifer, I am also an American living in the Netherlands! I am from New York and have been living in Apeloorn for a little over a year now. I came across your blog today...actually looking for a substitute for Bisquick! LOL. I also I am a foodie, and find it a little bit challenging to cook here in the Netherlands! I have enjoyed reading your blog...and I do not feel so alone on certain things...especially the making Friends issue! I find the Dutch just a bit to serious...but then again they find Americans a bit "Fake"...well...at times yes we can...I guess that is how we protect ourselves!? Anyway...it has been a pleasure to read your site...I will def be stopping by more often!

Sweet little critters. I hate when they are locked up, too.
